Credit Union Qualifications
Members of Community West Credit Union gain access to some of the best financial services and products available throughout Michigan as well as several great perks. You are eligible for membership at Community West if you:
- Live, work, worship, or attend school in Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, or Ottawa counties.
- Are any legal entity located in Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, or Ottawa counties.
- Are over the age of 55 and receiving a retirement annuity, pension, or social security benefits and live in or belong to a retirement organization, such as AARP, operating in; Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, or Ottawa counties.
- Are an immediate family member of a current Community West Credit Union member.
A minimum deposit of $5 into a regular savings account is required to open a Community West membership. As a member-owner, this is your share of the credit union.

CUNA Mutual GAP Insurance
Newly purchased vehicles depreciate the second they’re driven off the dealer’s lot. When a vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and not recovered, you could owe more than the vehicle is worth. Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) is designed to reduce or eliminate the difference between the insurance settlement and the loan balance. Ask about how you can add GAP to your auto loan. If you have an existing GAP policy with Community West, contact us to file a claim. If you purchased GAP directly at your auto dealership, contact your dealer to file a claim.

Are you paying too much for car insurance? Visit TruStage online to receive a free instant quote from a licensed insurance agent, and you could save more than $500 each year. Members receive an additional discount when bundling their home and auto insurance policies, and your agent will guide you through switching providers.
RxOptical Vision Advantage Program (VAP)
The Vision Advantage Program (VAP) provides members with the best value, advanced eyewear, and access to outstanding service and expertise from a Michigan company. VAP provides savings on frames, lenses, lens enhancements, sunglasses, contact lenses, and eye exams. You can also use your vision insurance at Rx Optical. VAP can be combined with some insurance plans for extra savings and Rx Optical will bill your benefit for you. Some restrictions may apply depending on your vision insurance coverage.
CWPERKS
Earn points for the products and services you already use at Community West Credit Union! For example, if you have a checking account, use a debit card, and have direct deposit into your checking account, you could earn 100 points each month. As points accrue, exchange them for things like fee reversals, special gifts, and more.
