Update Regarding The Final Stages of Merger Integration:

We are quickly approaching the finish line for the merger between Tradewinds Credit Union (TCU) and Community West Credit Union (CWCU). Your team; Mary, Karen, Dawn, Georgia, Nancy, and Teressa, and the whole CWCU team are available to help you navigate the wide selection of new products and services offered to you and help you find the ones that best meet your needs.

A few critical changes are fast approaching! A system integration will occur on Saturday, July 14th. You will lose access to online banking and other system functions as of 6 pm Friday, July 13th. You will be able to access your new Community West online banking as of Sunday, July 15th.

Starting July 16th, all CWCU branches will be full service, and you will able to call our contact center at 844-348-8960 where a CWCU team member will be able to assist you. The 616-784-6390 number will remain active and at the TCU branch.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

  • ACCOUNT NUMBERS: Account numbers will have 60,000,000 added to the current number in order to bring all accounts in the TCU membership to a total length of 8 digits. (Example: If your account number is 123450. Your new account number will be 60123450) Your account number will change as of 7/14. Stop by a branch to get a new account card today!
  • ACCOUNT HISTORY: No account history will be transferred over. Please save your statements to review your past transactions.
  • PERSONAL CHECKS: You will be able to continue using your TCU checks indefinitely. CWCU is assuming the routing and transit numbers for TCU. If you re-order checks prior to the integration, your new checks will include your current account information. Checks ordered after the integration will include your adjusted account number and CWCU’s routing and transit numbers.
  • ­­DEBIT/ATM CARDS: Your TCU MasterCard debit card will expire July 13, 2018. At the end of June, a new CWCU MasterCard debit card will be mailed to active debit card holders. If you use this product, you will need to activate your new debit card using the phone number listed on your TCU account. Once you’ve activated your new debit card, you will be able to begin using it on July 14, 2018. Please contact us or visit a branch to update the phone number on your TCU account.
  • CREDIT CARDS:If you are an active credit card holder, a new CWCU Visa credit card will be mailed to you at the end of June. Watch your mail for separate communication regarding this transition in the weeks to come.
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT: There will be no interruption in the direct deposit of funds into your account(s). No action on your part will be required.
  • BILL PAYMENT: Bill payment information will not be transferred over. Please contact the credit union for the best way to transfer this information.
  • SOCIAL SECURITY AND PENSION PAYMENTS: There will be no interruption in your social security or pension payments. No action on your part will be required.
  • SHARED BRANCHING NETWORK: As of July 16th, you will no longer be able to use the COOP Shared Branching Network. You will still be able to use the surcharge free COOP ATMS. You will now have access to the Xtend Shared Branching Network for deposits, withdraws and payments. ONLINE BANKING INSTRUCTIONS

 

On Sunday, July 15th, you will begin logging into your Community West online banking. See online banking instructions below:

  • Access communitywestcu.org.
  • Click the light blue Login button on the top right.
  • Type your NEW Community West account number into the Username section.
  • Type the last 4 digits of the primary member’s social security number in the Password section.
  • Click the dark blue Login button.
  • You will be directed to a new page.
  • Enter your new password.
    • Your password must be at least 8 characters long, and you can use up to 256 characters.
    • Combine at least three out of the following four choices: upper case letter, lower case letter, number, and a special character.
    • A special character is any one of the following: `~!@#$%&*()_+}{|:;’?/<.>,\-
    • Your password is case sensitive.
    • Your Online Banking password is not the PIN used for voice access.
  • On the next screen, create your security questions. You will be asked one of these questions every time you log into online banking. When you are finished, click the “Save My Questions” button.
  • You will then be presented with our Online Banking Use Agreement. If you agree with our terms and conditions, click “I Accept”.

Update Regarding ScoreCard Rewards:

We are reaching out to you regarding your Tradewinds Visa ScoreCard Rewards points.  As a part of the system integration between Tradewinds and Community West, your current Visa card and rewards program will be transitioning to a new service this summer.

What does this mean for you? Your ScoreCard Rewards points will not transfer over to Community West.  If you currently have a points balance, please redeem them soon so that you do not lose them. It is important that you do so before May 31, 2018. To redeem your points, please log into the Scorecard Rewards site: www.scorecardrewards.com.

Community West does offer a Visa rewards program that is very similar and we will send you information about this program in the months to come.

Tradewinds Credit Union and Community West Credit Union merged January 1, 2018. 

Please continue using your online banking from Tradewinds website until the systems have fully integrated.

Important Merger Information:

  • Account Number – Your account number will be adjusted as of July 14th.
  • Personal Checks – You will be able to use your TCU checks indefinitely. CWCU will be assuming the routing and transit numbers for TCU. Checks ordered before July 14th will include your current account information. Checks ordered after July 14th will include your adjusted account number and CWCU’s routing and transit numbers.
  • Debit/ATM/Credit Cards – A new CWCU MasterCard debit card or Visa credit card will be issued in July to replace your current cards.
  • Direct Deposit/Social Security/Pension Payments – The transition for direct deposit, social security and pension payments will be seamless. You will see no difference and no action is required on your part.
  • Shared Branching Network – You may continue to use your shared branching network without interruption until July 14th.
  • CWCU Branch Transactions – From January 1st until July 14th, TCU members will be able to do basic transactions at any of the CWCU branches. These transactions are check/cash deposits, transfer money, loan payments, and cash withdrawals. Services not available will be corporate checks/money orders and loan requests.
